The Glenside community and Wellington City Council have worked together to design a memorial to honour a woman who died and was buried in the community about 171 years ago.

Her burial site was consecrated in 1842 by Bishop Selwyn of the Anglican Church on his first visit to New Zealand.

The Council is to provide the memorial as an outcome of the Court hearing into the development of the Westchester Link road.
