Residents of Glenside are furnishing the front rooms of the historic Halfway House and are seeking heritage items to purchase or receive as donations.
Marg Ellis of the furnishing committee said that a register of items to purchase had been compiled, however people are also wanting to gift.
The committee are searching for furnishings of the Victorian era including a mantle clock in working order, parlour furniture and a hall stand.
Items sought - can you help?
Victorian parlour furniture, such as armchairs, chaise longue
A hall stand or a hall table.
A Victorian or Edwardian display cabinet
A Chiffonier to fit within approximately 1340 cm wide and 540 cm deep
A large mirror for above the mantle. One mantle is 1450 cm in length and the other is 2050 cm however the mirror would not be this wide.
A pair matching Victorian vases or similar for the mantle's.
A mantle clock in working order
A hall rug for the entrance, approximately 900-1100 cm x 1500-1700
Traditional woven rugs e.g. Persian rugs or of the style woven in Pakistan, for the front rooms, one for each room.
A Victorian era or reproduction china dinner set
A full silver-plated cutlery set
