Wellington North Community Patrol Car

Wellington North Community Patrol

Glenside provided the first two volunteers for the newly formed Wellington North Communuty patrol in 2007.

Our purpose

Our purpose is to empower communities to prevent crime and create safer environments through the utilisation of trained and equipped volunteer patrols.

The Wellington North Community Patrol is affiliated to the Community Patrols of New Zealand Charitable Trust (CPNZ) which is a registered charity under the Charities Act 2005.

What we do

The principal aim of the Wellington North Community Patrol is to work closely with the Police to prevent crime in our area. We are the eyes and ears of the Police.

The patrol is out in the community on most Friday evenings and some Saturdays, depending on the availability of its members.

The patrol team is usually driving for up to four hours during each patrol. The area covered includes Ohariu, Churton Park, Glenside, Grenada Village, Woodridge, Paparangi, Johnsonville, Newlands, Broadmeadows and Ngauranga.
